Richard Ledezma

Ledezma grew up in Phoenix, playing his early football at Valparaiso United before joining the Real Salt Lake academy in 2016. He was named the U.S. Soccer Development Academy's Western Conference Player of the Year for the U-18/19 age group in 2018, then made his professional debut for Real Monarchs that April. Within months PSV Eindhoven had signed him on a free transfer, and he moved to the Netherlands in January 2019.

Ledezma spent several seasons with Jong PSV in the Eerste Divisie before working his way into senior contention, making his first-team debut in 2020 and eventually becoming a regular starter. A loan spell at New York City FC in 2023 gave him a season in MLS before he returned to PSV. His PSV contract expired in June 2025, and he signed a four-year deal with Chivas on a free transfer.

Ledezma had represented the United States at youth level and won a senior cap in a 2020 friendly against Panama, but in January 2026 he switched his international allegiance to Mexico after FIFA approval. He made his debut for his new side in a friendly win over Panama, and scored his first goal for Mexico the following month, heading in a cross from Armando González against Iceland. He has since been named to the Liga MX Best XI for the Clausura and picked for the league's All-Star team.
