Rauan Orynbassar

Rauan Orynbassar spent almost his entire career in one place before 2025 turned it upside down. He came through at Zhetysu, working his way up through the club's reserve sides before settling into the first team, where he stayed from 2016 to 2024.

Then, within the space of a single year, he moved three times. In January 2025 he left for Irtysh Pavlodar in the First League, where he made 13 appearances and scored twice. By July he had switched to Turan in the Premier League, staying through to December. All three transfers were completed on free deals, and by the end of the year he was heading back to Zhetysu, with a contract due to start on 1 January 2026.

Orynbassar earned his one senior cap for Kazakhstan on 21 February 2019, in a friendly win over Moldova. Before that, he had gone through the under-21 setup, making 14 appearances for the age-group side between 2016 and 2020.

A right-footed player who wears the number 5 shirt, he has built up more than 150 professional appearances over the course of his career, the bulk of them during his long first spell in Zhetysu's colours.
