About the player
Sandro Altunashvili came through at Saburtalo Tbilisi, where he stayed for seven years and made 143 league appearances, scoring five goals and picking up the Erovnuli Liga title in 2018, the Georgian Cup in 2019 and the Georgian Super Cup in 2020. His move to Dinamo Batumi in 2021 brought a second league title in his first season there and, individually, back-to-back recognition as Erovnuli Liga Midfielder of the Year in 2021 and 2022, alongside three Team of the Season selections. A €200,000 transfer took him from Dinamo Batumi to Wolfsberger AC in 2023, where he spent two seasons and made 45 league appearances.
He returned to Georgia in September 2025 to rejoin Iberia 1999, adding a further 12 league appearances. Altunashvili has been capped eight times for Georgia since making his debut in September 2021, and he was part of the squad at UEFA Euro 2024.
Beyond his club honours, Altunashvili is a recipient of the Order of Honor, one of Georgia's state distinctions.
