Sean Mackie

Sean Mackie won two league titles in successive seasons at Falkirk, one in League One and one in the Championship, and the second took the club up to the Scottish Premiership. He played 56 league games for the club, scoring three goals.

His first for Falkirk came in a Scottish League Cup win over Buckie Thistle in July 2024. His first league goal followed when the club returned to the Championship, against Queen's Park.

The route to Falkirk was a long one. Mackie began at the Fife Elite Academy and moved to Raith Rovers in 2015. After a single league appearance there, Hibernian signed him in February 2016 for £25,000. He spent six years at Easter Road, but much of it was away from the first team. Loans took him to Berwick Rangers, Edinburgh City and Dundee. At Dundee he scored once in 12 appearances before an injury cut the spell short. He made 15 league appearances for Hibernian and was released in June 2022.

Before leaving, he went back to Raith Rovers on loan. He made seven appearances and won the Scottish Challenge Cup with them. Falkirk gave him a two-year contract on 9 June 2022.

His one cap for Scotland Under-21 came in March 2019.

Falkirk's step up in 2025 brought a loan to Ross County that September. He played ten league games there before the spell ended with the club's relegation. His Falkirk contract ran out in May 2026, and on 18 July he signed a one-year deal with Arbroath as a free agent. He has played three league games for them so far.
