Scott McGill

Scott McGill played 41 games in a single season at Airdrieonians, and that loan spell from July 2021 to May 2022 shaped his early career. He scored four league goals and one in the League Cup, and it was his first extended run in senior football.

McGill came through the youth academy at Heart of Midlothian and signed his first professional contract in June 2018. He was handed a debut in October 2020. Regular football was elsewhere, though, and Hearts sent him out on loan three times. After Airdrie came Kelty Hearts from August 2022, where he scored once in 13 appearances. In January 2023 he moved to Raith Rovers, again on loan, and scored twice before the season ended.

Raith made the move permanent. McGill agreed a pre-contract in May 2023 and joined on a free transfer on 1 July 2023, once his time at Hearts was over. He spent the 2023–24 season there.

In June 2024 he signed for Dundalk on a free transfer. Seven months later, in January 2025, he was back in Scotland with Stenhousemuir on an 18-month deal. He scored two league goals in 43 appearances across the 2024–25 and 2025–26 seasons.

Across his senior career McGill has made more than 120 appearances and scored about nine league goals. The right-footed midfielder has moved between clubs regularly since leaving Hearts.
