About the player
Sebastian Palmer-Houlden spent three straight seasons at three different clubs on loan. At Newport County in 2023–24 he played 40 games and scored nine goals. In April 2024 the club named him its Young Player of the Year.
He had been at Bristol City since the age of eight, signing his first professional contract in May 2022.
The next step was Scotland. Dundee took him on loan for 2024–25, and in the Scottish Premiership he made 39 appearances and again scored nine.
In May 2025 Palmer-Houlden left Bristol City for Gillingham on a three-year deal, for an undisclosed fee. His first season there, 2025–26, brought 35 appearances and five goals.
That was not the end of his time with the club's name attached to a Scottish move. On 19 August 2026 he went back north of the border, signing for Motherwell on a three-year contract with an option for a fourth year. The fee was again undisclosed. He is now back in the Scottish Premiership.
