Sebastian Szymański

Sebastian Szymański became a regular starter for Fenerbahçe. Sent to Rotterdam on loan for the 2022–23 season, he scored nine goals in 29 appearances and helped the club to the Eredivisie title, a run that earned him a place in the league's Team of the Month for November 2022. Feyenoord did not take up the option to sign him permanently, and instead it was Fenerbahçe who paid €9.75 million to bring him to Turkey that July.

His path there had run through Moscow rather than western Europe. Szymański left Legia Warsaw for Dynamo Moscow in 2019 on a five-year contract, a move that kept him in Russia through four seasons. Before that, he had come through Legia's academy and won back-to-back Ekstraklasa titles with the first team, along with a Polish Cup, and picked up the league's Young Player of the Month award in April 2019.

At Fenerbahçe he settled into the shirt number 17, scoring 14 goals in 86 appearances and winning the Turkish Super Cup in 2025. In January 2026 he moved again, this time to Stade Rennais for a fee of around €10.5 million on a contract running to 2029.

Szymański has been a fixture for Poland since making his debut against Austria in a Euro 2020 qualifier in September 2019, and he has gone on to earn 54 caps and six goals for the national side.
