About the player
Thierry Gale is the all-time top scorer for the Barbados national team. By November 2024 he had scored 8 goals in 15 caps. His first came on 5 September 2019 against Saint Martin, and he has scored in every edition of the CONCACAF Nations League for his country. That includes two goals against Guyana in the 2024–25 Play-in.
He grew up in Bridgetown and started out at Pro Shottas United. In 2018 he moved to Europe and joined the youth ranks of Budapest Honvéd. He came through them to the senior squad and, between 2020 and 2022, played for the club's second team, Honvéd II. Then he began to move more often. In 2022 he signed for FC Dila Gori, and in August 2023 Rapid Wien took him for a reported fee of about €800,000.
Vienna did not bring the playing time that fee suggested. Over two seasons he made six league appearances and scored once. In February 2025 he went on loan to Piast Gliwice in Poland until June. He scored once in 11 games there. The loan carried an option to buy, and Piast did not take it up.
In July 2025 Gale joined Bolton Wanderers for a reported £600,000. He made his competitive debut on 9 August 2025 against Plymouth Argyle, and his first goal for the club came against Preston North End.
He plays right-footed.
