About the player
William Fonkeu Njomgang came through the Anderlecht and White Star Woluwe academies before making his senior debut at KV Woluwe-Zaventem, leaving in 2019. His career then moved between Belgian clubs including FC Kosova Schaerbeek, UR La Louvière Centre and RFC Mandel United, before he headed to Bulgaria in 2023.
In Bulgaria, Fonkeu played for three clubs. He joined Chernomorets Balchik, then moved to CSKA 1948 Sofia, followed by a spell at FK Hebar 1918 Pazardzhik. He then returned to CSKA 1948 Sofia, turning out for both the first team and the reserve side, CSKA 1948 Sofia II, before leaving as a free agent.
Fonkeu joined Milsami Orhei on a free transfer, signing a contract that runs to the middle of 2027. He played in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers against FK Velež Mostar. He played the full 90 minutes in both legs, a 1-1 draw away from home followed by a 0-1 home loss.
Standing 195 cm tall, Fonkeu holds dual Belgian and Cameroonian nationality. He has not featured for either country at senior or youth international level.
