Youssef El Kachati

Youssef El Kachati made his way through Dutch football via the academies of VV Noordwijk and Sparta Rotterdam, later turning out for Jong Sparta Rotterdam before making 11 senior appearances for Sparta between 2018 and 2020. A return to VV Noordwijk and a spell with KVC Westerlo's U21 side in Belgium followed before he found his footing back home. Joining Quick Boys in February 2022, he finished as the Tweede Divisie's top scorer in the 2022–23 season, a breakthrough that led to Telstar after contract talks over an extension broke down.

At Telstar he scored 31 goals in 67 appearances, and it was there that he produced a memorable moment: a 47-metre goal against Jong Ajax in February 2024 that made the shortlist for the Puskás Award. He also scored a decisive brace in the promotion play-offs against Willem II, sending Telstar up to the Eredivisie for the 2025–26 season.

Rather than stay for the promotion he had helped secure, El Kachati signed for NEC Nijmegen on a free transfer that June, putting pen to paper on a three-year contract. He opened his account for the club with a goal against PSV in September 2025. His stay proved brief: in June 2026 he moved on again, this time to Stade de Reims in Ligue 2 for a fee of around €2 million plus bonuses, also on a three-year deal. He has made a quick impact in France, scoring twice in five appearances so far.

Dutch by citizenship, El Kachati has represented Morocco at Under-23 level, with one appearance for that side in March 2019.
