About the player
Zafarmurod Abdirrahmatov came through Nasaf's own academy, moving from the club's U18 side to its U21 side before breaking into the first team in 2022. He has since made close to 85 league appearances for the Qarshi side, primarily at right-back, scoring twice. As a homegrown player, none of his moves within the club have carried a transfer fee.
At international level, he was part of the Uzbekistan side that won the 2023 AFC U-20 Asian Cup, and he scored in that tournament against Australia's U-20 team. He went on to represent Uzbekistan at the 2024 Paris Olympics with the U-23 squad, where the team finished 13th.
He earned his senior debut for Uzbekistan on 18 January 2024, against India at the AFC Asian Cup, and has since won a small number of caps without scoring for the senior side. While some local reports have described him as a midfielder, he is listed by international sources as a defender, the role in which he plays for Nasaf.
