Zak Delaney

Zak Delaney's route to Scottish football began in Dublin, where he came through the youth ranks at Leicester Celtic and St Francis before joining St Patrick's Athletic. In 2018 he crossed to England to join West Bromwich Albion's academy, working his way up to a Championship debut for the first team in the 2021–22 season after a loan spell at Bath City had given him regular senior football in the National League South.

His move to Scotland came in July 2022, when he signed for Inverness Caledonian Thistle on a free transfer. The high point of that spell came in June 2023, when he came off the bench in the Scottish Cup final, though Inverness were beaten 3-1 by Celtic. He left the Highlands in January 2024 for a short stint at Arbroath before signing for Greenock Morton that July on another free transfer. He made more than 68 appearances for them, scoring once.

In July 2026 he moved on again, joining Raith Rovers on a free transfer and signing a two-year contract. At international level, Delaney has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, earning a cap at U-17 and later featuring for the U-20s, though a senior call-up has yet to follow.
