About the player
Zé Ricardo was born in Goiânia and came through the Rayo Vallecano academy, where he trained from 2010 to 2017 before starting his senior career in Portugal at Desportivo das Aves. He made no league appearances there and was instead loaned out to SC Mirandela, making 38 league appearances and scoring three goals as a left-back.
A move to C.D. Feirense in 2019 saw him spend three seasons at the club, with 65 league appearances and a goal. He then returned to Spain with CD Lugo, making 30 league appearances, before moving on to AVS Futebol SAD, where he played 19 league matches and scored once.
He went back to Feirense for the 2025–2026 season, playing 41 league matches and scoring twice. In July 2026 he moved on again, joining C.D. Tondela, where he had made six league appearances by September of that year.
Zé Ricardo holds both Brazilian and Spanish nationality but has not played for either country's senior national team. He was called up to Brazil's under-23 squad ahead of the 2023 Pan American Games, though he did not make the final roster.
