Altglienicke

For the 2025/26 season, a club from Berlin's Treptow-Köpenick borough plays its home league matches in another town. Altglienicke moved to the Karl-Friedrich-Friesen-Stadion in Fürstenwalde/Spree, a ground known locally as the Spree-Arena. Their own Stadion Altglienicke holds 2,500 and does not meet the licensing rules of the Regionalliga Nordost. Since winning promotion in 2017, the club has hosted its games in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark, in the Amateurstadion at the Olympiapark and in the Hans-Zoschke-Stadion before Fürstenwalde.

The promotion came from the NOFV-Oberliga Nord in 2016–17, one step in a rise that also included Berlin-Liga titles in 2012 and 2016. In 2014 the club had voluntarily withdrawn from its league to stabilise its finances.

The Regionalliga brought its closest calls. Altglienicke finished second in 2019–20 and again in 2020–21, and both times reached the play-offs for the 3. Liga. Both times they failed to go through.

The cup has been kinder. In 2020 they beat FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin 6–0 in the Berlin Cup final. They lost the 2022 final. In 2026 they beat BFC Dynamo 2–1 after extra time, against one of the two clubs the Regionalliga calls their Berlin derby opponents.

The name is older than the club's current form. The side traces its roots to the gymnastics club MTV Spieß, founded on 25 July 1883. The present club began in 1946 as Altglienicker Sportverein. In 1952, under East German pressure to drop the word "Verein", it became VSG Altglienicke, and it kept that name after reunification.

The name most tied to the promotion years is Torsten Mattuschka, who was player-coach from 2016 to 2018. He was in charge for the Oberliga title and the first season in the Regionalliga.
