Alton Town

By then the club was ten years old. It had won its way up from Division Three East in 1948.

The 1972–73 season gave the club its farthest FA Cup run. Alton reached the First Round and lost 5–1 to Newport County.

Jimmy Dickinson, who became a Portsmouth legend, is on the list of players who have worn the shirt.

The name has changed more than the colours. In 1991 the original Alton Town merged with Bass (Alton), the works side of the town's brewery, and the joint club was called Alton Town Bass. The Bass name was later dropped and the club went back to Alton Town.

The brewery also decided where the club would play. Coors Brewers, part of Molson Coors, wanted to redevelop the old Bass ground for housing and a supermarket, so the club moved to Anstey Park in 2015/16. The ground holds 2,000, 200 of them seated, and carries the sponsored name The Exclusive Networks Stadium. A year after the move, in 2016, the senior side merged with Alton United Youth, and the club now trades as Alton FC.

Alton play in white shirts, black shorts and black socks, and they compete in the Combined Counties League Premier Division South. Baffins Milton Rovers are the rivals they face there.
