Fleet Town

Fleet Town has a rivalry with Guildford City. It is not a derby with a ceremonial name. Both clubs occupy the same patch of Hampshire.

The club arrived at its current name in 1963. That change coincided with the era in which it secured the Hampshire League Division Three title in 1962. It stayed put at the same ground from 1923, when Lord Calthorpe granted the land. The stadium holds 2,000 spectators. It is known officially as The Easy As HGV Stadium, though the sponsorship title sits lightly on a venue that has seen 1,336 people fill the stands for a match against AFC Wimbledon in 2005.

The kit remains simple: blue shirts, white shorts, blue socks. The nickname, The Blues, follows naturally from that palette. Honours are few but specific. The Wessex League victory in 1995 stands out because it pushed them into a wider league structure. The Russell Cotes Cup was lifted five times, mostly in the decade following that promotion. The Hampshire Senior Cup came in 2009, the same year they reached the Third Qualifying Round of the FA Cup twice in two seasons.

Mark Frampton is the name that lingers in the statistics. He made 428 appearances and scored 250 goals, numbers that suggest a career spent inside the club rather than moving through it. Toyosi Olusanya passed through in 2018, moved on to the Football League and then the Scottish Premiership, and became a reminder that Fleet Town can still act as a stepping stone. The centenary arrived in 2019, though the club had already been counting decades since the 1890s.

The ground does not expand for big matches. It holds 1,336. That is the limit.
