Cigand SE

Cigánd is a town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, and its football took its present shape in 1998, when local football was reorganised into one club, Cigánd Sport Egyesület. Nagy Gábor, who served as coach and then stayed on as president for years, is the name attached to that long stretch. The supporters and the youth teams call the side the Darazsak, the Wasps, and the colours are yellow and green.

The club's history has swung between highs and lows. On 14 May 2016 it beat FC Tiszaújváros 3-1 in the promotion play-off and reached the second division, NB II, for the first time. Players who won senior international caps, Katona György, Baksa Zoltán and Ur László among them, were part of that NB II period.

Tamás Feczkó took charge in 2023. He had been a Hungarian international striker, and a coach with that background gave a small-town side a recognisable name on the touchline. Cigánd have no single local derby. The fixture with Kisvárda is the one usually called a county derby, and Létavértes SE are another regular regional opponent.

May 2025 brought a loss far heavier than any result. Kiss Máté, an 18-year-old youth player, died after an injury in an under-19 match. Cigánd won the NB III Northeast group in 2026. An older trophy, the Sport TV Kupa, dates from 2008.

The Cigánd Városi Stadion holds 1,200. In the 2018/19 Magyar Kupa, the Hungarian Cup, the sixth-round tie against MOL Vidi FC was shown live on M4 Sport, the first live football broadcast in the town's history. Cigánd lost 0-2.
