Delémont sit in the 1. Liga Classic these days, back at that level after coming down from the Promotion League following the 2024–25 season.
The club took shape in 1909, when FC Delémont and Union Sportive Delémont-Gare merged into a single side, Sports-Réunis de Delémont, still known around the Stade de la Blancherie as Les Sports. Its longest spell in the top flight came at the turn of the millennium: promotion for the 2000–01 season, a sixth-place finish the year before that remains the club's best in the Nationalliga A, and relegation after 2002–03. Heinz Hermann, capped 118 times for Switzerland, managed the side through that entire stretch.
Cup football has given Delémont its sharpest recent memory. In the 2023–24 Swiss Cup they beat FC Luzern 1–0 in the round of 16 and went on to the quarter-finals before Servette ended the run.
None of that carries the weight, locally, of the Jura-Derby against FC Biel-Bienne.
