SV Zeilsheim were the opponents, and the victory secured a return to the fifth tier of German football, a level the club has since lost after relegation in 2021.
TuS Dietkirchen e.V. was founded on May 20, 1911, as Turnverein Dietkirchen. The football department was established later, after World War I, when Josef Meurer returned from an English prisoner of war camp and taught local youth football. The footballers split from the gymnastics club on April 30, 1927, forming SV Dietkirchen, which later merged back into the TuS. The club was re-founded in January 1946 after WWII.
The club plays at the Auto-Bach-Sportanlage auf dem Reckenforst, which has a capacity of 3,000 spectators. The club colors are red and black. In 1988, the club received the Sepp-Herberger-Preis from the DFB Foundation for outstanding youth work.
