Evesham United

Evesham United go into the new season in the Southern League Premier Division South, a step up secured last term when they beat Malvern Town 1–0 in the Division One South play-off final. The result carried extra weight: Malvern Town are the club's oldest rivals, and matches between the two are known locally as the Malvern derby.

The club itself exists because an earlier one did not survive. Evesham Town, formed in 1891 and a beaten finalist in the FA Amateur Cup in 1923, collapsed under financial strain in 1938. Servicemen returning from the war rebuilt the town's football in 1945 under a new name, Evesham United, and kept the old club's red and white as a mark of continuity. The nickname, the Robins, followed the colours.

The furthest the Robins have gone in the FA Cup came in 2008–09, when they knocked out Rushden & Diamonds to reach the first round proper. Among those who left Evesham for the Football League was Billy Turley, who went on to play for Northampton Town and Oxford United.

Their honours have mostly come at Worcestershire and Midland Combination level. Since 2012 they have played at the Spiers & Hartwell Stadium, opened that July by Ron Atkinson after the move from Common Road, sold off for housing six years earlier. It holds 3,000, with 300 seats.
