Fankom

Yuri Drozdov, who played for the Russian national team, is now head coach of Fankom in Kirov, where the team plays at the VyatSShOR ground, a stadium of about 1,500 seats. Fankom's supporters call themselves Fankomovtsy, and their slogan is "Fanatey za Fankom!".

In 2025/26 Drozdov's side entered the Russian Cup under a joint name, Fankom Broke Boys, after teaming up with the media club Broke Boys. Fyodor Smolov played for that combined team. Sergei Sharov, a former professional, is also linked with Fankom, as is the goalkeeper Vladimir Frokin.

The run reached the fifth round, the last 32. Fankom beat Khimik Dzerzhinsk, then went past Ufa on penalties. It ended off the pitch, not on it. The Disciplinary Committee of the Russian Football Union ruled that Fankom had fielded a suspended player and disqualified them.

The club dates from 2013 but only became a legal entity, the non-profit "Football Club Fankom", in 2019. Before that it played 8x8 and won the Golden Ring championship in that format in 2018. In 2022 it merged with a sports school. It has since won the Golden Ring Cup twice, in 2024 and 2025, and in 2025 it took the Golden Ring Third League title.

The first win of that cup run came against Dynamo Kirov, the other club in the city.
