FBC Riograndense RS

Riograndense's one Campeonato Gaúcho title came in 1939: runners-up finishes in 1937, 1938 and 1946 bracket that single triumph, and the club settled for the state's second tier in 1965 and for the regional Copa Cícero Soares in 1973.

What the club has produced more reliably than trophies is players. Nico Nunes left Rio Grande with a reputation as O Bombardeador for the weight of his shot and topped the scoring charts in 1967, while Luís Carlos Scala went on from Riograndense to Internacional and the Brazilian national team.

Its derby against Rio Grande, the Rio–Rita, and its rivalry with São Paulo-RS remain the fixtures that matter locally.

That return itself tells its own story: the club was without professional football from 2005 to 2018, tied up in financial and judicial difficulties, and came back in 2019 through a Sub-20 project before working its way back into the Gauchão Série B.
