Queluz is in the same stretch of Sintra municipality. Real Sport Clube came into being in August 1995, when two neighbourhood sides, Grupo Desportivo de Queluz and Clube Desportivo e Recreativo de Massamá, merged. The new club chose to count its history from 1951, the year Grupo Desportivo de Queluz was formed, and it took the crown on its crest, along with the name Real, from the royal palace itself. The light blue, black and yellow of its kit came from stitching the two founding clubs' colours together.

The club's best season arrived in 2016–17, when it won the Campeonato Nacional de Seniores and went up to the Segunda Liga. The step up to the second tier proved short-lived: a 22nd-place finish sent them back down after a single season, and by 2023–24 they had dropped further, into the Campeonato de Portugal.

Their ground, the Complexo Desportivo do Real SC, holds around 1,200, and the club has built a separate reputation through its archery section, which has picked up national titles of its own.
