Folschette

Football arrived in Folschette in 1935, and for its first decade and a half it barely survived: the club folded in 1939, came back in 1946, folded again in 1949. The version that has carried the name since is the one re-established on 25 June 1959.

US Folschette has never reached the Luxembourg National Division or lifted the Cup, and its history sits instead in the divisions below. The high point came in the 1981/82 season, when the club won the Ehrenpromotion. Runner-up finishes in the Ehrenpromotion recur through the club's record, in 1976/77, 1990/91, 1992/93, 2011/12 and 2014/15, each time without the play-off win needed to go up.

The Cup has offered fewer chances at a name to remember: the best run came in that same 2019/20 campaign, a first-round tie lost 0-1 away to Avenir Beggen of the top flight. Against SC Ell, the local rivalry runs sharper than any cup tie, sharpest when both sides find themselves in the same lower division and the match carries a weight the table alone would not suggest.
