FV Engers 07

Twice in three seasons, FV Engers 07 won the Rhineland Cup and so earned a place in the first round of the DFB-Pokal, the German national cup. The first time was 2020, and the draw sent them to VfL Bochum. In 2022 it was Arminia Bielefeld. Both ties ended in defeat, but a club from a district of Neuwied had reached the national draw twice, in the 2020/2021 and 2022/2023 seasons.

The club's route there was long. It began on 10 July 1907 as FC Viktoria Engers, and later that year it merged with FC Roland Engers. In 1910 the footballers joined the gymnastics club Turnverein 1879 Engers, and they stayed inside it until 1916, when they left to form Fußballverein Engers. The "07" in the present name keeps the original year.

Today the side plays in the Oberliga Rheinland-Pfalz/Saar, at the fifth level. Its home is the Stadion am Wasserturm, where artificial turf was laid in July 2017.

The opponent Engers measure themselves against is TuS Koblenz, from the city a short distance up the Rhine. Local newspapers call the fixture the "Traditions-Derby" and cover it.
