Grevenmacher

The 2002–03 season remains the only one in which Grevenmacher finished top of the Luxembourg National Division, and the club made sure of it by taking the Luxembourg Cup in the same campaign. That double came after a decade of near misses: between 1994 and 2002 CSG finished runner-up in the league seven times, close enough often enough.

Daniel Huss ran through the middle of that era and beyond it: he joined in 1998, stayed until 2014, captained the side, and topped the league's scoring charts in both 2003 and 2010.

Founded in 1909 as Stade Mosellan Grevenmacher, the club took its current name a decade later, after the wartime years in which occupying authorities had it registered as FK Grevenmacher. Steadier than the trophies was the run in the top flight: from 1985 to 2016, Grevenmacher stayed up thirty-one years without a break. That run ended, and the club has since bounced between divisions, dropping to the third tier in 2018 and again in 2024, with a promotion back to the second tier in 2022 in between.
