Huddersfield Town U21

Denis Law left the Huddersfield academy for Manchester City in 1961 for £55,000, a British record fee at the time; six decades later Lewis O'Brien followed the same route out, joining Nottingham Forest in 2022.

Huddersfield Town took shape in 1908, adopted the blue-and-white stripes still worn today in 1913, and did not settle on "The Terriers" as an official nickname until 1969. Under Herbert Chapman in the 1920s, Huddersfield won three First Division titles in a row, 1924, 1925 and 1926, the first English club to manage that run, and beat Preston North End in the 1922 FA Cup final. That cup campaign also produced Billy Smith, who scored directly from a corner, the first player recorded to do so in English football.

Relegation returned in 2019, and by 2024 Huddersfield were in League One.

Leeds United and Bradford City are the two clubs whose matches against Huddersfield are grouped under that name.
