The 2022–23 season ended with Ibri Club winning promotion to the Oman Professional League. The club topped Group A of the Oman First Division League that season and came through the promotion playoffs for the first time.
Ibri had waited a long time for that moment. The club was founded on 1 January 1971 in the city of Ibri. It has never lifted the Oman Professional League title or the Sultan Qaboos Cup.
Cup football has given the club its sharpest moments against local rivals. In the 2020–21 His Majesty's Cup, Ibri knocked out Al-Suwaiq in the quarter-finals.
The club plays in front of up to 15,000 spectators at the Ibri Sport Complex, also known locally as the Ibri Youth Complex.
Since the promotion, the name most associated with Ibri's forward line has been Jacques Bessan.
