Benjamin Stolte took charge of the Schanzerinnen on 1 January 2025, arriving from LASK Linz. Frauen-Bundesliga, a division the club reached the hard way — winning the Regionalliga South in 2019, then coming through a promotion play-off to confirm it.

That title remains the only one the women's side has to show.

The women play under the badge of FC Ingolstadt 04 , which is younger than most of the clubs it meets. The red, white and black the team wears belongs to that arrangement.

The nickname carries the older story. Ingolstadt was a fortress town, and the Schanzen — the earthworks — gave the men's side its Schanzer tag long before there was a women's team to inherit the feminine form of it.
