Jeonbuk Motors

Hyundai Motor Company built the club in Jeonju. Wansan Pumas was formed in January 1993 and never reached a K League season; the renamed Chonbuk Buffalo folded after one. On 12 December 1994 the carmaker started again with Chonbuk Dinos, and that side is the one still playing.

The first title of any kind arrived in the Korea Cup in 2000. The league itself waited until 2009. Then it stopped waiting: nine more championships followed, including four in a row from 2018 to 2021, and another in 2025.

The continental record sits apart from all of that. Jeonbuk won the AFC Champions League in 2006 — three years before they had won anything domestically — and again in 2016.

Home is the Jeonju World Cup Stadium, which the supporters call Fort Jeonju. The club trains at the Yulsori clubhouse in Wanju county, just outside the city; the owner's head office is in Seoul, which is where most decisions about the club are taken.

They play in green shirts with black shorts, and the nickname follows from it — Green Warriors, 녹색전사.

The rivalries are the part that explains the club. Jeonbuk's opponents in the Champions League final of 2006 and the disputed cup records of the 2000s run through the same short list of Korean clubs, and Ulsan sits at the centre of it: the two sides' honours lists contradict each other in places, each claiming the same competitions in different years. On the pitch the argument has been settled repeatedly since 2009, when Jeonbuk began taking the K League title with a regularity nobody else in the country has matched.
