Juventud Torremolinos

Juventud Torremolinos, founded in 1958, spent most of that history there.

In between came the result that put them on a wider map: the 2022–23 Copa del Rey, their first appearance in the main draw, where they beat SD Huesca — a club two divisions above them at the time — on penalties after a 2–2 draw. Sevilla ended the run in the next round, but the tie against Huesca is the one still talked about locally, a night when the Estadio Municipal El Pozuelo, which holds barely 3,000, had more riding on it than it ever had before.

The nickname Los Verdes comes from a kit that borrows the green and white of the Andalusian flag rather than from any club colour tradition, and it has followed the team through its climb. That climb kept going: in 2024–25 they won the Segunda Federación group, a second promotion in three seasons, and the club now sits in the Primera Federación, the third tier of Spanish football, a level Torremolinos has not occupied before. The local derby with Antequera and the Costa del Sol meetings with Marbella will have to be renegotiated at this altitude — assuming the fixture list still finds room for them.
