Leicester City Women

Leicester belongs to Leicester City FC first and Leicester City Women second, and for most of the women's history that was the whole story. King Power International's takeover in August 2020 changed that arithmetic. The women moved into the Belvoir Drive training ground that December, and within a season the shift from amateur to professional structure carried the team up from the FA Women's Championship into the Women's Super League for the first time.

The first match at the King Power Stadium came on 12 September 2021, against Manchester United, closing out a spell in which home games had been played at Quorn's Farley Way ground. Sharing a stadium with the men's team has its costs: when fixtures clash, Leicester's women play instead at Burton Albion's Pirelli Stadium. The WSL stay did not hold — the club dropped into the Women's Super League 2 for 2025–26 — but King Power Stadium remains the home ground regardless of division.

The rivalries follow the East Midlands map — Nottingham Forest and Derby County are the games that carry weight.
