MB Rouisset arrived in the Ligue Professionnelle 1 the way it built everything before it. The squad that took the club up for the 2025–26 season had already climbed through the R1 Ligue Régionale de Football of Ouargla, the Inter-Régions and a third-tier group before winning the D2 Centre-Est in 2024–25, a run of successive promotions.

The club grew out of Rouisset, a town in Ouargla Province, in 1964, and its full name, translating roughly as Municipal Future of Rouisset, is echoed in the nickname El Moustakbal — The Future.

In the Algerian Cup, MB Rouisset has twice fallen at the Round of 16, against ASO Chlef and against JS Kabylie, and went one round further in 2019, when CS Constantine ended the run in the Round of 8. None of those campaigns produced a trophy.
