Mosta

Two decades later Mosta took the Second Division in 1984–85, and by 1986–87 they had won the First Division — at that time the second tier — which remains the highest championship the men's side has claimed. A second Second Division title followed in 1992–93. Runners-up places in the First Division in 2001–02 and 2004–05 came without promotion attached.

The FA Trophy has never come to the town. The closest run of recent years was in 2020–21, when Mosta reached the last 16 by knocking out the holders, Balzan, having already put out Santa Lucia.

The women's team has the better cup record. They lost the Maltese Women's Cup final in 1998 and again in 1999, then won it in 2012.

Mosta's one entry in the European record books is a small one and not of their choosing. In the 2021–22 season, away to Spartak Trnava, they scored the first goal in the history of the UEFA Europa Conference League — the competition was new, the fixture was among its earliest, and the goal went down as its first.

Home is the Charles Abela Memorial Stadium, which holds 700. The ground carries the name of Charles Abela, and in Mosta that name is attached to the club as firmly as the results are.
