Onze Bravos

When the roof came off Estádio Mundunduleno for renovations in 2013, Onze Bravos packed up and played four seasons of home matches in Saurimo, on Lunda-Sul's turf at the Estádio das Mangueiras. A club took its ground with it for the better part of four years, then came home in 2017 to a rebuilt Mundunduleno.

In 2015, playing as guests in a province not their own, Bravos do Maquis lifted the Taça de Angola, the one major trophy in a history that stretches back to 1983 and has never touched the Girabola title. A year after that they came within one final of a second piece of silverware, finishing runners-up in the Supertaça de Angola.

Luena sits in Moxico, in Angola's east, and the club's fiercest matches are reserved for neighbours who know the same long roads: Sagrada Esperança of Dundo above all, with CD Lunda-Sul, the club that once lent them a stadium, also drawn into what locals call the Derby do Leste.

Chico, born Carlos Francisco Diassonama Panzo Bunga, gave the club its clearest individual moment, finishing the 2018–19 Girabola season as its top scorer with 13 goals before earning his first caps for Angola.

Mundunduleno holds 4,300 people, blue and white shirts filling a fraction of the seven thousand the club once had to borrow in Saurimo.
