Before it was a football club, it was a way to fill Saturday afternoons for men who worked the same shift: a factory side put together in 1908 for the workers at the Peter Brotherhood engineering plant, playing under the name Brotherhoods Engineering Works. The club spent a spell as Bearings Direct before settling on Peterborough Sports in 2001, a name with none of the factory left in it.
What followed took the best part of two decades to show. Jimmy Dean's side put together four promotions in five seasons, a run that carried the club from parish-league football into the National League North for 2022–23.
They play in orange and black at PIMS Park. Lomana LuaLua and Maniche both turned out here at points in their careers.
The rise did not hold.
