«Little Eagles»
Poland's under-21s have never won the European Championship. Their best result is the quarter-final, which they reached five times: in 1982, 1984, 1986, 1992 and 1994. Against England in 1982 they won 2-1 away and drew 2-2 at home, and still went out 4-3 on aggregate. Two years later Spain ended their run at the same stage.
Its first competitive matches followed in 1978, in qualifying for the 1980 tournament. The National Stadium in Warsaw, Arena Katowice and Stadion Miejski in Szczecin have all hosted them.
After the 1994 quarter-final there was a long gap. The team next reached a finals tournament in 2017, and Czesław Michniewicz took them back in 2019, during a spell in charge that ran from 2017 to 2020. Adam Majewski qualified them for the 2025 finals in his time as coach, from 2023 to 2025. Jerzy Brzęczek took over in August 2025.
The "Little Eagles" are the feeder for the senior "Eagles". Robert Lewandowski, Arkadiusz Milik and Wojciech Szczęsny all passed through the age group.
Dawid Kownacki is the leading scorer with 15 goals. Arkadiusz Głowacki holds the appearance record with 32 caps.
