Stadion Średzki holds about 1,100 people.

The football section dates from 1 October 1919, when 33 activists led by Antoni Wróblewski set it up. The club's high point came in the 1990s, when it reached the II liga, the second tier. In 1994/95 it played in the III liga's Group VII (Poznań) and finished 10th. Since 2011 it has been a constant in the III liga, now in Group II.

The regional Wielkopolska Cup is where Polonia has done its winning: seven times, in 2016/17, 2017/18, 2018/19, 2020/21, 2021/22, 2024/25 and 2025/26. The 2025/26 final was a 4:0 win over Orzeł Kawęczyn. The cup also opens the door to the national Puchar Polski, where the team has reached the last 32 several times. In 2017/18 it lost to ROW Rybnik and to Górnik Zabrze, and in 2021/22 to Górnik Zabrze again.

Luis Henríquez, a Panama international who had been at Lech Poznań, arrived in 2018 and later moved onto the coaching staff. Bartosz Bartkowiak came through the club's academy, played for Lech Poznań and Miedź Legnica, and returned in 2021. The Spanish defender Jonathan de Amo, who has Ekstraklasa experience, joined in 2025. The nearest rival is Jarota Jarocin, and matches between the two are treated as a derby.

The women's side plays in the I liga, and the youth teams have won regional cups and medals. The men are in the III liga's Group II and have another regional cup to defend.
