Ramsbottom United

The seats in the main stand at the Harry Williams Riverside Stadium came from Maine Road, Manchester City's old ground. The floodlights came from Oldham Athletic and went up in 1996–97. A covered stand named after Jack Wolfenden sits behind one goal, with open terracing behind the other. The ground on Acre Bottom Lane has not moved since Ramsbottom United began in 1966. It has been patched, upgraded and borrowed from ever since. The 1995 improvements were what allowed the club to join the North West Counties Football League. The Boxing Day floods of 2015 did serious damage to the ground.

The stadium carries the name of the man who founded the club, Harry Williams, who is still chairman. It was named after him in the 2010–11 season.

The club's best years came soon after. Joint managers Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley won the North West Counties Premier Division in 2011–12. In 2014 they took the club into the Northern Premier League Premier Division. Joel Pilkington played 182 games for the club between 2009 and 2014, across the years of that rise.

Relegation from the Northern Premier League followed in 2015–16, and in 2022–23 the club fell to the ninth tier. Tom Kennedy captained the side from 2018 to 2022. His spell included the 2018–19 FA Trophy run to the Third Round, which featured a 5–5 draw with AFC Fylde. Since the drop, the club has rebuilt.

Bury are the rivals, and the "Bury derby" produced the record crowd at Acre Bottom Lane: 2,138 in April 2024, in a ground with room for 2,000.
