The club took shape in 1967, and it has since built its identity on the rivalry as much as on silverware. Four Burkinabé Premier League titles came its way, along with three Coupe du Faso wins and two Burkinabé Super Cups.
The 2024–25 campaign brought none of that momentum. A bloated squad and a wage bill the club could not sustain forced changes off the pitch, and head coach Mousso Ouédraogo resigned before Roger Sirima stepped in on an interim basis. RCK finished 12th. President Bassibiri Simporé and sporting director Bamoussa Traoré now carry the task of steadying a club whose recent balance sheet has outpaced its results.
