The Soproni Városi Stadion, also called the Káposztás utcai Stadion, holds 5,800 people, 5,300 of them seated.
That has happened more than once. The women's team of Soproni VSE then kept Sopron on the football map, winning 14 league titles and 14 cups between 2005 and 2018. When that club failed to obtain a licence in 2018, SC Sopron was set up to take its place as the city's senior team.
SC Sopron is a separate entity from both of those, and the difference matters to anyone who follows the town. The new club starts from the third tier, the NB III, in red and white, with no nickname that has stuck.
The academy is where that shows most clearly. Martin Majnovics came through it.
Győri ETO FC is the regional rival.
