SF Baumberg

On 3 August 2013, Sportfreunde Baumberg walked out at the Ulrich-Haberland-Stadion in Leverkusen for a DFB-Pokal first-round tie against FC Ingolstadt 04. They were there because they had won the Lower Rhine Cup. 2,488 people watched. Ingolstadt won 1–4, and Uwe Brüggemann scored Baumberg's goal.

Sportfreunde Monheim-Baumberg had been formed in 1955 from SV Monheim 1910 and Sportfreunde Baumberg 1926. Since then it has shared Monheim am Rhein with 1. FC Monheim, and the two meet in the Monheimer Derby.

Gideon Jung came through the U17 and U19 sides and moved to Rot-Weiß Oberhausen in 2012. He later played for Alemannia Aachen and Greuther Fürth. The A-Juniors had a former Bundesliga player as coach, Marcus Feinbier, from 2010 to 2012.

The most recent step came in 2024–25, when Baumberg won the Oberliga Niederrhein, the fifth tier. For the following season the club left the MEGA-Stadion Sandstraße, which held 1,500, for a new ground at the Sportzentrum am Kielsgraben with room for 2,500.
