Slingerz

Slingerz began in 2013 in Vergenoegen and won the GFA Banks Beer Knockout Tournament in its first season. The owner, Javed Ali, built a squad that earned the nickname "FC Hollywood", and the club has kept that habit of mixing local youngsters with experienced players from around the Caribbean. That same year they became inaugural members of the GFF Elite League and won the first title.

The run stopped in late 2016. Slingerz, Alpha United, Pele FC and Georgetown FC withdrew from the 2017/2018 season to protest the Guyana Football Federation's decision to expand the league from 8 to 10 teams without a Congress vote. The federation ruled the four clubs "not in good standing", and CONCACAF then barred Slingerz from the 2017 Caribbean Club Championship. The clubs returned to competition in 2022.

The 2025 season made up for much of that absence. Slingerz went through the league unbeaten, with 16 wins and 2 draws, and finished 12 points clear of Guyana Police Force FC. They beat Fruta Conquerors and Ann's Grove United 11–0 in one game, and ground out a 1–0 win over the Guyana Defence Force. The title took them to the 2026 CONCACAF Caribbean Club Shield, where SV Robinhood knocked them out in the quarter-finals.

Alpha United left the league alongside Slingerz, so the two clubs' fiercest opponent was also their partner in the protest.
