Soccernet

The name gives it away before anything else does: a group of people who found each other on a football portal called Soccernet.ee decided, in 2001, to stop talking about the game online and go and play it. They took the site's name as their own and entered the V liiga, the fifth tier of Estonian football, the following year.

Confusion has followed the club since. It is sometimes mixed up with Tallinna FC Castovanni Eagles, and some records have listed it as that club's reserve side in later seasons, but Soccernet has run as its own, independent outfit throughout. It has also had honours pinned on it that were never its own: club records list Estonian Cup wins in 2007 and 2012, both of which actually belong to FC Levadia Tallinn.

Soccernet has spent its existence in the lower divisions, the IV liiga and III liiga, and its identity rests less on titles than on the players who kept scoring in them. Silver Leetma topped the IV liiga põhi scoring charts with 37 goals in 2009, then led it again in 2011. Even Laanemaa matched that with 30 goals in 2016. The high point for the team itself came in 2009, when Soccernet finished second in the IV liiga põhi with 53 points and 84 goals scored, the best campaign in the club's run.

Home games are played on the artificial pitch attached to Kalevi Stadium, a secondary field within the wider Kalevi Keskstaadion complex rather than the main 12,000-capacity bowl next to it, and Uhlsport has supplied the kit since the club's first season. There is no nickname; players and supporters simply call it Soccernet.
