Southern Soccer Academy

The men's side now plays in USL League Two under Jack Collison, who took over as Head Coach in 2024 and also holds the title of Director of Methodology. The SSA Kings became the SSA Swarm around 2024/2025, as the club entered a partnership with Brentford.

Southern Soccer Academy is a nonprofit. In 2012 five youth clubs from the metro Atlanta area merged into one, among them Cobb Futbol Club, which dated from 1997. The organisation traces its own roots back to 1982. Marathon Soccer Park in Austell holds about 1,000 people.

Several of its youth teams reached the Super Y-League North American Finals in 2012, and the U-16 boys won the South Atlantic Division. The best recent run belongs to the U-20 side, which finished first in the Southeast Division in 2021, the inaugural season of the USL Academy League Playoffs. Indy Eleven beat them in the semi-final. The club has not won a title in USL League Two or the USL W League. Its opponents include other Georgia-based sides such as Charlotte Eagles and East Atlanta FC, but the club has no named derby.

Simon Davey has been there for all of it. He joined in 2012, when the five clubs became one, and he is now Executive Director and Sporting Director. He was still there when the Swarm name arrived.
