Fort Lauderdale United

Fort Lauderdale United's women's side opened its history a game short of a trophy: in the inaugural USL Super League season it reached the final and fell 0-1 to Tampa Bay Sun FC after extra time, one now framed locally as the Florida Derby. Three of the squad went on to the league's first All-League Team, and the coaching staff picked up two Coach of the Month awards over the campaign.

The club itself only came together in November 2023, when co-founders Deon Graham and Tommy Smith set it up with a women's team as the entry point rather than a men's side, joining the USL Super League for its first edition in 2024/25. A men's team followed in USL League Two in 2025 and reached the Southern Conference final, beating Laredo Heat SC in overtime and then Sarasota Paradise before losing out to Dothan United. A separate men's professional team is planned for USL League One from 2026.

Ownership carries a name recognisable well beyond South Florida: USMNT midfielder Gio Reyna joined the group behind the club. On the field, the marquee arrival is Allie Long, a member of the 2019 World Cup-winning United States squad, signed for the 2025/26 season.

Matches are played at Beyond Bancard Field on the Nova Southeastern University campus in Davie, a ground expanded from 2,000 seats to roughly 7,000 to meet the club's early crowds.

Fort Lauderdale United has reached a final and a conference final without winning either.
