Spartak Trnava Women

Across Trnava, the club's most familiar opponent wears the same city's rivalry in a different shirt: Slovan Bratislava, whose meetings with Spartak's women are billed as the West Slovak derby. Slovan has spent the years since 1994 collecting fourteen league titles, and Spartak has yet to add one of its own, a gap the derby does nothing to close but keeps visible each season.

The team's away kit, plain white against a home shirt of red-and-black stripes, earned the players the nickname the White Angels — a name that has stuck longer than any trophy has.

Founded in 1994, the Slovak Women's First League has been shared out mostly among NMŠK Nové Zámky and ŠK Slovan Šaľa besides Slovan Bratislava, leaving Spartak's women to build a following without a title to show for it. They play out of the Futbalový štadión in Horné Orešany, and run a youth section of girls' teams that feed into the senior side, organised under the Trnavské futbalistky association.

None of that was there at the start. The team began life in 1968 as TJ Skloplast Trnava, formed by women working at the Skloplast glass factory. It carried that name and that identity for decades before, on 14 July 2014, re-registering as FC Spartak Trnava and taking on the badge and affiliation of the city's senior men's club. The anniversary of the original founding was marked in 2018, fifty years on from the Skloplast dressing room where it all started.
