Tranent Juniors

Foresters Park sits on Lindores Drive in Tranent, East Lothian, with a capacity of 2,300 spectators. The club, now known as Tranent FC, traces its roots to 1911. Before that consolidation, the original Tranent Juniors competed under the Scottish Junior Football Association (SJFA) banner for more than a hundred years.

The identity of the team is wrapped in maroon and white, colours that have persisted through decades of rebranding and restructuring. That history fuels the rivalry with Dunbar United, known as the East Lothian Derby, a fixture where the line has barely moved in terms of sentiment, if not in results.

Honours are not stacked endlessly here, but the 1935 Scottish Junior Cup victory, where they defeated Petershill 6–1, remains a defining moment in the club’s long arc. More recently, the momentum shifted upward with the East of Scotland Football League Premier Division title in 2022, followed by the Lowland Football League Cup in 2024. These trophies signal a return to form after years of grinding in the lower echelons, a period where the club had to adapt to survive the dissolution of the old junior system.

From the coal pits of the early twentieth century to the modern pitches of the Lowland League, the story is one of continuity. The ground on Lindores Drive remains the anchor, just as it was when the founders first laid out the grass. The merger in 2023 was not an end but a continuation, ensuring that the name Tranent still echoes across the Lothians, carrying the weight of its past into a new era.
