Uzwil

The best run came in the 1972/73 season, when they tore through the lower divisions to reach the quarterfinals of the Swiss Cup. The club was founded in the Ochsen restaurant in Niederuzwil on October 11, 1911. It plays its home matches at Sportanlage Rüti in Henau. The team colours are recorded as white.

While the senior men’s side has no major honours, the club has seen success elsewhere. The women’s youth section, FFC Uzwil, won regional and national junior cups in 2017 and 2018. More recently, the 40+ veterans team lifted the Ostschweizer Cup in 2025, proving that the club still has teeth when the conditions are right. These are not the trophies of a powerhouse, but they are tangible results from a community that refuses to fade.

The team does not play in isolation. The local rivalries define the calendar. The biggest contest is against FC Bazenheid, a canton-level derby that carries weight in St. Gallen. There is also the local clash with FC Gossau, often called the Easter derby, and the smaller skirmish with FC Winkeln. These matches are not just games; they are the reason the ground fills up on weekends. The Uzwilers have carved out a niche in the east of the country, surviving on passion rather than prestige.
