Weymouth Wales

Carrington Village, in the parish of Saint Michael, is where Weymouth Wales are based. Home games are played a short distance away on the artificial pitch at Wildey, inside the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex, in a ground that holds about 2,000. The club is known as "Wales" or "the Purples".

It began on 16 December 1958 as New South Wales, and its first Barbados Premier Division title came in 1963. Seven more followed by 1972, the last of them under that name. From 1973 to 1976 it was Pan-Am Wales, and it won the league in each of those four seasons. The present name dates from 1977. By then the club had 11 championships, all won under its earlier names.

Weymouth Wales won 11 more. The league came in 1978, 1981, 1984 and 1986, and then not again until 2012. Titles in 2017 and 2018 followed. Since 2023 the club has won it every season through 2026. Its total of 22 is the highest in Barbadian football. The FA Cup has gone the same way: 15 wins, three of them in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Wotton and Ellerton are the local rivals in both competitions.

Barbados internationals have played here, among them Romario Harewood, Hadan Holligan, Mario Williams and Keemar Headley.

Wales won their group, beat FC Santiago de Cuba in the quarter-finals and then lost the semi-final to SV Robinhood.
